Our Story

Wait. Why is there a video of a bright and colorful dancing bird?

Because that it how all of this started. I saw that video one random day in college and was so inspired by its little dance that I made a little drawing. And the rest is just kind of spiraled out of control.​

Hello! My name is Ellie and this is my trusty companion Sugarbug~

 For as long as I can remember I had been a child obsessed with fantasy and imagination- Dragons, mermaids, werewolves, you name it. As I got older I couldn't let the art and world building go, and so when it came time to choose where my life would take me I went to school for game development. I will eternally value my education, and I still use it for my creative independent work! I take great pride in blending the technical aspects of computer art and the tangible skills of fabrication together to make amazing things that bring fantasy to life. ​At this moment, I am a sole patron of this little gig.

Everything from the designing and art, to the manufacturing I do all by hand (and often on the floor) in my little apartment in New England. I have been building this dream up for the better part of four years, when I started making my first tail at the start of the COVID lockdowns. While I am still working a full time job to support my true passions, I am determined to see the the wonderful merfolk of the world wearing and finding fulfillment in my creations. ​

Thank you so much for being here, it means the world to me. I, like many individuals in the world fall along the neurodivergent spectrum. I adhere to she/her pronouns and inclusivity is immensely important to me and what I am trying to create here. I am always intent on doing my best, and I will be continuing to cultivate this dream, so I appreciate your patience with me as I try to grow.​
